Evaluation of Tolerant to CO2 Excess Microalgae for the Production of Multiple Biochemicals in a 3G Biorefinery

To date, the positive environmental impact of microalgae-based technologies has been demonstrated in numerous studies. However, there is still a number major technical and economic obstacles to overcome. Therefore, further research innovation are needed for development commercial exploitation large-scale integrated sustainable processes, based on robust ‘industrial’ microalgal strains novel photobioreactors (PBRs). Note that advancement intensified cultivation processes can facilitate economically feasible co-production biomass value-added biochemicals. In this context, goal present investigation was compare several set productivity criteria, including maximum growth concentration total biochemicals (i.e., carbohydrates, proteins, lipids) under CO2 excess conditions (10% v/v). It found wild type strain Stichococcus sp. fully meets above criteria. particular, 1.68 g·L−1 biochemical products 1.4 were measured batch experiments flasks using selected strain. Further studies performed two different PBRs. Cultivation conventional stirred tank PBR showed successful scaling bioprocess, whereas an innovative tubular recirculating resulted maximization both (3.66 g·L−1) (3.33 g·L−1).
